Ms. Thelma Houck and Ms. Sandy Humphrey started the Lamp Place decades ago. They saw that there was a need for affordable quality lamps and shades in the Charlotte North Carolina area.  Their first store was opened on South Boulevard offering a wide selection and styles of table lamps, floor lamps and a variety of shades that would meet almost anyone's decorating needs.

As business grew the demand for other accompanying items arose and mirrors, pictures, accessories, home decor and gift Items were quickly added to the stores selection of merchandise.  Customers loved what the store had to offer so much that the need for expansion came and 3 other stores were quickly opened in the surrounding Charlotte suburbs.  Business was growing and so was the demand for quality shade and lamp repairs so an on site repair department was created.  Lamp repairs have become a valued resource for our customers and the business continues to expand.

Today only our South Boulevard location remains. Our retail store sells a variety of table lamps, floor lamps, shades and accessories, but most importantly we pride ourselves on having the best in customer service. We work hard to help each and every customer that comes through our doors giving them individual attention to solve their decorating needs.
